Judy Discenza - Vice President- was born in Springfield, Massachusetts. She attended the College of Our Lady of the Elms, majoring in Mathematics. After teaching school for two years, she joined MassMutual Life Insurance Company, where she trained and became a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, specializing in employee benefits. She worked in the Group Actuarial Department and rose to 2nd Vice President and Actuary.
Judy joined Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida in 1982, and later became Vice President and Actuary. While at Florida Blue, she served on various corporate committees; she retired in 1999. Judy loves music, though she does not play an instrument. She enjoys golf, and also plays on her local YMCA tennis team. She has been a volunteer at NFC for the past two years.
Dennis Dore- Counsel
Practicing insurance defense since 1982, Board Certified since 1988, tried well over 100 jury trials, frequent lecturer to lawyers on issues of civil trials, insurance coverage and bad faith. Authored chapter on defense perspectives of bad faith for a Florida Bar publication. Have a great passion for serving my clients in the highest level possible. Enjoy diverse and challenging cases.

Gregory Ferguson - Secretary
Greg is a Corporate Account Executive at Florida Blue, and has successful career in the manged care industry. Greg is an experienced professional in Sales and Retention, Consultant, Innovator and Resource for the industry. Opening new markets and diversifying business through innovation and courage is my passion. Gregory serves as a board director of the Northeast Florida Conservatory since 2011.
Betty Beasley - Treasurer
Betty attended the University of Tennessee, where she majored in Finance. She played alto saxophone in the UT Concert Band. She later graduated from the University of Georgia with
highest honors and a Master of Accountancy degree. Prior to retirement, Betty had been working as CPA for many well known companies included Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida, KPMG, Bank of America, and Travelers Insurance Group.
Betty has been a member of the Northeast Florida Conservatory Band for over two years; she also plays in the Orchestra and the Jazz Band. In addition to music, she enjoys tennis, swimming, and investment analysis. Her experiences range from lettering in track, to performing as drum major in her high school band, to
showing Guernsey dairy cattle, to playing Peter Pan in a synchronized swimming pageant. She plays golf as often as she can.
Richard A. Dickson - President - Artistic & Music Director
…Founder and Executive Director of the Northeast Florida Conservatory (2010);
is conductor, performer and educator with degrees from Stetson University (BME) and University of Florida (MM and PhD-completed except for dissertation) in music, music education and curriculum and instruction. After serving for twelve years as Executive Director for Amelia Arts Academy and Music Director/Organist at Amelia Plantation Chapel on Amelia Island, Richard and his wife, Janet, moved to Jacksonville to be near family. He served as Music Director for Gainesville Community Chorus and Orchestra, Director of Gainesville Community Band and Music Director for Amelia Island Chorale, Director of Nassau Community (New Horizons) Band; he has taught (band director) for Atlanta and Jacksonville high schools as well as music education instructor at Florida State College of Jacksonville (FSCJ), Jacksonville University (JU), and University of Florida (UF). Richard also played French horn in the Jacksonville Symphony and owned and operated a national agency for musicians.

Dr. Charles R. Hoffer – Honorary Board Member - Professor of Music Education at the University of Florida for the past 26 years is a graduate of Eastman School of Music (MM) and holds a Ph.D. from Michigan State University. Dr. Hoffer is past President of the Music Educators National Conference and has served as Clinician, Speaker and Committee Member for national and international associations, conferences, commissions, councils for the past 64 years. He is author and co-author of textbooks used around the world for the past 50 years He is a contributor to several professional music journals and is a member of the Hall of Fame in the Florida Music Educators Association (1997) and in MENC: The National Association for Music Education, 2006. Dr. Hoffer is a former clarinet player and member of choral groups.
