BENEFIT MUSIC FESTIVAL
Equal Employment Opportunity
Policy: It is the policy of the Conservatory that applicants for employment are recruited, selected and hired on the basis of individual qualifications with respect to positions being filled and potential for promotions or transfers which may be expected to develop. The Conservatory’s continued success depends upon the full and effective utilization of qualified persons regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, disability, sex, age, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, veteran status or marital status.
The Conservatory further commits itself, through Affirmative Action Program, to recruit, employ, advance in employment, and otherwise treat qualified individuals according to their ability and without discrimination. The Conservatory has a continuing obligation to hire and develop the best qualified people – basing assessments upon their job-related qualifications – because it is morally right, legally required and good business practice.
Furthermore, all employment decisions and practices, including but not limited to: recruitment, hiring, training, development, compensation, benefits, promotions, transfers, corrective action, corporate-sponsored educational, social and recreational programs and terminations are not to be administered with due regard to job performance, experience and qualifications. The Conservatory will not tolerate any employment-related discriminatory practices.
Procedures: To ensure good faith efforts under the Affirmative Action Program and to publicize corporate opportunities for equal employment, the following actions will be taken:
Leaders will be trained on the Conservatory’s EEO policy and the Affirmative Action Program.
The policy is referenced in the Employee Handbook, which is available to all employees.
A copy of the EEO policy statement will be posted on both physical and electronic bulletin boards located in the Conservatory.
All advertisements for employment, placed for or by the Conservatory, will state that the Conservatory is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
The annual written Affirmative Action Plan will be communicated to leaders as appropriate and made available, as pertinent, to any employee upon request.
Promotional opportunities will be posted in accordance with Conservatory policy.
Suitable employment openings, including those not generated by federal contracts and those of all facilities regardless of location, will be listed with the local office of the State Employment Service in accordance with Section 60-250.5(a) of the Vietnam Readjustment Assistance Act of 1974.
