The philosophy of the NORTHEAST FLORIDA CONSERVATORY INC is to provide a comprehensive educational opportunity to ALL in the knowledge, practice and appreciation of music. Northeast Florida Conservatory offers exceptional instrumental and vocal instruction, AND with an emphasis in ensemble training in a professional atmosphere which encourages personal and artistic growth. Adults are joining our BAND – ORCHESTRA & JAZZ BAND!

Richard A. Dickson - President - Artistic & Music Director

Founder and Executive Director of the Northeast Florida Conservatory (2010) - is a conductor, performer and educator with degrees from Stetson University (BME) and University of Florida (MM and PhD-completed except for dissertation) in music, music education and curriculum and instruction. After serving for twelve years as Executive Director for Amelia Arts Academy and Music Director/Organist at Amelia Plantation Chapel on Amelia Island, Richard and his wife, Janet, moved to Jacksonville to be near family. He  served as Music Director for Gainesville Community Chorus and Orchestra, Director of Gainesville Community Band and Music Director for Amelia Island Chorale, Director of Nassau Community (New Horizons) Band; he has taught (band director) for Atlanta and Jacksonville high schools as well as music education instructor at Florida State College of Jacksonville (FSCJ), Jacksonville University (JU), and University of Florida (UF). Richard also played French horn in the Jacksonville Symphony and owned and operated a national agency for musicians.
